You probably gathered from the grand hoopla surrounding Sophie's adoption that she is something of a VIP and the many government officials who turned out for the occasion apparently found out that Keith was leaving Wednesday night for Hohhot to adopt Samuel and they pulled some strings so that Sophie's passport and paperwork would be ready in time for all of us to travel together. Can I get an AMEN? Needless to say we are delighted to be leaving together tonight. By the time you all wake up and read this Wednesday morning, we will be on our way to sunny Inner Mongolia. It is currently snowing in Yinchuan and the temperature is going down to 19 in Hohhot Thursday, so it's time to break out the sweaters. "Hohhot" is not "so hot" (that rhymes).
I have video of the TV newscast but even the cell phone size is 18MB so it will have to wait until we have VPN access or until we get home. I think it was pretty nice but I don't speak Chinese. I will ask Joshua to translate.
So it's on to Hohhot, hopefully a land with less spice and more Diet Coke!
