Sleeping Beauty

Grace held her baby brother while he was drying off and warming up after his morning swim. Needless to say he is very comfortable with her and fell fast asleep. Photo opportunity not squandered.

Samuel's Realm

Everyone, no matter how small, has a kingdom, a realm of influence over others. Even babies and small children have control over people. Samuel certainly does. The question is, how will you use the power you have been given? To whom much is given, much is required; so Samuel challenges his online friends to meditate on their realms of influence, to know God's will, and to be intentional in how you can align the inner workings of your kingdom to be in cooperation with the kingdom of God. Samuel thanks Dallas Willard and the apostle Paul, who gives the following advice on knowing God's will:

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing, and perfect will.    (Romans 12:1-2)

Annabelle the Shark

Shark attacks are rare in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. So we feel safe in the ocean at our beach house. We feel more at risk when we go inside. Annabelle is becoming a card shark, so beware.
